Licensed Insolvency Trustee

We are looking for a Licensed Insolvency Trustee whose primary responsibility will be the management of interim distribution and closing out of consumer insolvency files. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and a multi-tasker with experience in the insolvency industry.

Key duties & responsibilities

  • Reviewing and signing interim statements of receipts and disbursements for consumer proposals
  • Reviewing and/or preparing final statements of receipts and disbursements for consumer proposals and summary administration estates
  • Ensuring orderly closing of aging summary administration estates
  • Assisting the court team in managing the closing and re-opening of estates where the bankrupt is not discharged
  • Other management duties as assigned, from time to time

Knowledge & skills

  • Self-starter and multi-tasker with a demonstrated focus on setting priorities
  • Possess behaviour aligned with setting and meeting annual filing targets
  • Ability to empathize with the client’s situation while offering professional advice with a focus on client satisfaction
  • Effective people skills in terms of motivating and mentoring staff
  • Strong financial analytical skills, including Excel applications
  • Strong and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, logical; ability to sort through issues and to problem solve solutions
  • Knowledge of Ascend would be useful
  • Interpersonal skills that facilitate positive outcomes to business promotional efforts

Education & experience

  • Five years minimum of experience in an insolvency practice required (not necessarily post-licensing experience)
  • Experience in closing out bankruptcy estates
  • Previous work experience in corporate insolvency and working on restructuring files is an asset
